Sadly, It’s all too easy to find employers who have been ‘stung’ by agencies in the past. We frequently hear the below comments from new clients:
“The engineer only lasted 2 weeks – then he left!”
“The engineer was dangerous, shouldn’t be working in this industry”
“The supplying agency called the engineer after 3 months and offered him a job elsewhere!”
Sound familiar?? Not to mention a few other dodgy tricks we’ve heard of. THIS is why recruitment agencies have a bad name, and this is the stigma we are consciously battling.
There are always risks with employing. We are all only human. It’s more about limiting that risk as much as possible.

We Limit the Risks
- Using clear and concise communication between engineers and employers
- Using industry knowledge to our advantage when speaking with both parties on a technical level
- Having our engineers answer competency questionnaires, the results of which will be provided to the employer
- Ensuring full transparency, to the best of our ability for both candidates and clients!
We currently have 3 in place. One for basic electrical knowledge every engineer in the field should know. The second is tailored for the refrigeration engineer and the third is for our gas qualified engineers.
Please note:
It is still the employers responsibility to deem suitability of the candidate and in-house competency tests are still encouraged – our aim is to provide prospective employers with insight into the engineers’ capabilities enabling them to make an informed decision as opposed to ‘hiring blind’.
